Historical NotesBadge from Pittsburgh branch of the Postal Telegraph-Cable Company. According to donor Myrna Trautvetter, her father, Albert Wintersgill, wore this badge (possibly on his hat?) as he delivered messages. Both Clara Zang Wintersgill (1913-2005), originally from Spring Hill, and Albert Wintersgill (1913-1998), originally from the North Side, worked for the Pittsburgh branch of the Postal Telegraph-Cable Company. Clara was a Teletype/telegraph operator and Albert was first a bike messenger, who later became a branch manager. They met at their workplace and were married on May 20, 1936, choosing to reside on Spring Hill. In 1938, Albert took a job with the B.F. Goodrich Company in West Virginia and he remained there until 1952; that year, he and the family returned to Pittsburgh and settled in Whitehall.
