Historical NotesThis sign was collected at the site of the Duquesne Works of U. S. Steel Corporation. This sign, probably made in the mill's sign shop, apparently hung outside of a furnace building at the plant.Label TextThese signs from the Duquesne Works steel mill were probably made in the sign shop onsite. They make it clear that the mill was a place where danger was constantly present. Many signs warning of hazards or saying “caution” or “danger” could be found in the mill to keep employees and visitors alert and aware of the dangers of their surroundings.
