On back at center is raised letters from 9:00 to 3:00 is "WESTINGHOUSE MELMAC"; in center is "PM 648A / WM / 2 / MADE IN THE U.S.A"; from 9:00 to 4:00 is "DISTINCTIVE DINNERWARE"; "WM" is connected together with the "W" empty and the "M" filled in
Historical NotesWestinghouse Melmac Disney plate. According to donor Ed Reis, the Westinghouse Melmac Disney items came about to fill unused capacity in a new Westinghouse plastic plant at the time. There is also a 1940s Westinghouse ad that says they made them by the millions.
