Historical NotesGathered from an anti-Tom Corbett rally organized by OnePittsburgh and held outside of the Senator John Heinz History Center when Corbett was there to announce that he would be running for re-election in 2014. Corbett was governor of Pennsylvania from 2010 to 2014 until becoming the first sitting governor in Pennsylvania history to not win a second term when he was defeated by Tom Wolf in the 2014 elections. Corbett was unpopular with teachers due to funding cuts to education during his tenure. Thomas Wingett "Tom" Corbett, Jr. was born June 17, 1949. He is an American politician, a member of the Republican Party, and served as the 46th Governor of Pennsylvania. His term ran from January 18, 2011 to January 20, 2015.
