Historical NotesFrederick Close was a chairman of Alcoa and developed the easy open tops for beverage cans. This painting was presented to Alcoa by Frederick Close's son, Frederick J. Close, III, in commemoration of his father. Alcoa donated the painting to the Heinz History Center in 1996.
