Mitchell Paige

BiographyA native of Charleroi, Pa., Paige served in the Marines during World War II. He received the Congressional Medal of Honor when he made a lone stance on Guadalcanal against an overwhelming force of Japanese after they broke through the American line and killed or wounded all the other Marines in his machine gun section. Hasbro honored him as well by creating a G. I. Joe doll in his likeness.
