Historical NotesJohn Moon joined Freedom House ambulance service in 1972 and received training for emergency medical technician II, the highest ranking and certification for a paramedic by 1975. Freedom House paramedics were required to retrain to EMT II under the city service Freedom House was the first emergency medical service with trained paramedics in the country. It was also the first to equip its ambulances with the latest medical equipment to treat emergency situations. Freedom House innovated emergency medical treatment by conducting the first intubation in the field on a patient.
