Historical NotesStephen Remington's leather wallet. The Remington family immigrated to the United States from Garrowby, England. John Remington was the first to arrive and settled in Roxbury, Massachusetts. Stephen Remington was the first generation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was a civilian contractor and was given land as payment for work on the Federal Arsenal in 1814.
