for Lamonte E. Wilson
BiographyLamonte E. Wilson was the first African American Chief of the Allegheny County Airport Authority. In 1975, Wilson started working with the Pittsburgh Fire Department and became the Captain and Communications Officer. Wilson was honored with an award in 1980 for his long running history of bravery and commitment to his work and protecting the people in his community. By 1996, he attained the position of the fire chief in Allegheny County and became the first African American to do so.
