BiographyRobert E. Comins ran a wholesale rubber footwear company, Robert E. Comins, Inc., on Fifth Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He moved to the Boulevard of the Allies after the Urban Redevelopment Authority purchased his building in the 1950s to make room for Chatham Center. Comins was an important figure in various Jewish communal organizations, including Jewish Family and Children’s Service.
