BiographyThe Harlem Club and Bar was a black owned club and bar established on Wylie Avenue in 1937. It gained great fame amongst the African American community who normally frequented it as they were not allowed to visit white owned clubs and bars outside of the predominantly Black Hill District. The club was known for great performances by talented black musicians at the time.
