Washington Infantry of Pittsburgh

The Washington Infantry is considered as the oldest independent military organization in the U.S. The Washington Infantry formed out of the Pittsburgh Blues who were first called the Pittsburgh Light Infantry and initially served as the Jackson Blues, beginning in 1792.
