Dr. John A. Redfield

John A. Redfield worked at Westinghouse/Bettis for 39 years and specifically on the nuclear reactor at Shippingport. He developed the FLASH program in 1964 which became the standard for safety testing of nuclear reactors and then oversaw the LWBR or Light Water Breeder Reactor, the third reactor at Shippingport which Admiral Rickover hoped would be a test for nuclear. Redfield retired in 1994.
