Historical NotesThomas Haraburda emigrated to Pittsburgh from Austria in 1912. He stayed in a boarding house in Braddock and worked in the Edgar Thomson Works. His family was able to join him in 1921. He married Elizabeth Chesnak and they had three daughters, Mary, Anne, and Margaret. The family joined him in 1921. He sent money back to the family during the time of their separation. After his wife joined him they had four more children, Joseph, John, Frank and Michael (the donor). They lived at 208 McDowell Street, then Pine and Talbert before finally settling in N. Braddock in 1929.
