Historical NotesRetailer: Pittsburgh Purchased with Hillman Foundation funds.Label TextIn the late 1800s, mold makers had become so skilled and pressed glass was so inexpensive to produce that manufactures developed many new forms of pattern glass. Here are a sampling of pieces and color choices available in one pattern of pressed glass, Adams and Companuy #140, known by collectors as “Wildflower.” Made for several decades, and reproduced in the 20th century, Wildflower came in five colors—clear, apple green, yellow, amber, and blue. There were almost 50 pieces in the pattern, including six different sizes of bowls and unusual forms such as the turtle shaped master salt on display.
