Historical NotesHermann H. Heiser immigrated to the United States in 1854 from Altenburg, Saxony, Germany. In 1864 he and a partner opened a saddlery and harness business in Black Hawk, Colorado. There in the west he solidified his reputation as a superior leatherman. Leaving the partnership after 10 years, he purchased another saddlery business in Denver and renamed it The Hermann H. Heiser Saddlery Company. The maker's mark on this holster indicates that it was produced between 1910 and 1925. Part of the Pittsburgh Police Historical Association collection.
