Historical NotesThis Wilson racket was used by donor Anne McKeen Houghton when she played and won the WPIAL boys' tennis title in 2006. Anne Houghton was the first female to win the WPIAL Boys' Tennis Title. A junior at Quaker Valley High School, Sewickley, Pennsylvania., Houghton was injured during the spring of her sophomore year, causing her to miss participating on the fall girls' tennis team. Because there were no WPIAL or PIAA rules against a girl playing on a boy's team in the spring if she did not play on the girls' team in the fall, she easily advanced to the WPIAL championship and won the title with a 6-1 and 6-0 victory.
