Historical NotesA company currency piece from Consolidation Coal Company in Monongah, West Virginia. Monongah attracted large numbers of European immigrants and was the scene of the worst mining disaster in U.S. history. (Monongah was featured in the History Center's exhibit, "The Darkest Month".)
