DescriptionPair of black beaded earrings (a-b). Each earring is comprised of one black jet(?) bead/charm with metal wire loop at top. Bead's loop connects to metal wire ear loop which has circular front and narrows to rectangular back (P-shaped); back top corner has hooked latch closure. Bead connects to the bottom center of the wire ear loop. Earrings have slightly different wire ear loops, bead connecting apparatus, and bead finish.DimensionsHeight x Width x Length (a): 0.625 x 0.313 x 0.625 in. (1.6 x 0.8 x 1.6 cm)

Historical NotesPair of earrings. Part of a collection that belonged to the Ferree and McCombs families. The Ferree and McCombs families were early settlers of what became Squirrel Hill, they were involved in the purchase, improvement, and sale of real estate in the Pittsburgh area. The families became connected through the 1841 marriage of Elizabeth Ferree to Norris McCombs.
