Historical NotesThese are a pair of brown, 9-ounce jersey gloves, distributed sometime in the 1970s or 1980s by the Jacob Ash Co., Inc. They would have been used for both residential or commercial applications. The Jacob Ash Co., Inc. was a glove wholesaler based out of the Fifth Avenue district of Uptown Pittsburgh. The brothers Jacob, Hyman, and Abraham Ash founded Ash Bros., a confectionery and general merchandising business, as early as 1931.
