Historical NotesJAM Enterprises t-shirt. This t-shirt marked with the social media slogan - #bethekindkid – represents the work of JAM Enterprises, a student-run nonprofit maker-based organization established by two young women students (and best friends) and their teacher at Avonworth Primary School in 2018. “JAM” came from the first names of the two students – Julia and Amelia – and that of their teacher, Maureen (Frew). The after-school club creates items to donate or sell for profit to benefit community causes chosen by the students, and empowers children to learn that their own work can help make a difference. The t-shirts were one of the first things that the group made, and after the first batch of student-made shirts sold out in 2018, JAM expanded their efforts to make more. The club encourages students to wear the shirts every Wednesday, to remind people to be kind.
