Historical NotesAlcoa aluminum gun casting purchased by donor Corey LeChat at an antique show. Investment gun castings of aluminum began in the mid-1950s. A similar piece online is said to be a 9mm automatic Alcoa pre-machining gun casting that was to be made into a Smith & Wesson, c. 1970s.
