Historical NotesDrawing of Jerome Apt III and other members of the Steel City Section of National Association of Rocketry by Henry Koerner. In this drawing with four club members, Apt is the one at center holding a book. To his left is Arnold Pittler, who was a founding member of the club and later a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University. Henry Koerner and Apt's parents met when Koerner was artist-in-residence at PCW (now Chatham University), located on Woodland Road where the Apt family home was located. In 1965, Apt's parents commissioned the artist to do several drawings at a meeting of the Steel City Section of the National Association of Rocketry, the local model rocket club founded by Apt in 1964. This meeting took place at Shady Side Academy one Sunday in the fall or winter of 1965.
