Historical NotesGlass lantern slide used in early films to advertise “Ride the Trolley" week. From January 10-16, 1927. Mayor Charles Kline issued a doctrine called “Ride the Trolley Week.” During this week, there would be multiple displays and performances including a traveling exhibit of George Washington and The Pittsburgh Press offered a free trolley pass to the winners of a contest requiring contenders to write about how they benefited from the organization.
