Midground has trains on railroad tracks, trucks on a road, and utility poles all in front of a large steelworks that extends into the left background. Background has a river in front of low hills. Historical NotesLithograph entitled Steel Valley (Pittsburgh,) 1936/42, by Louis Lozowick. Louis Lozowick was a well-known Russian-American painter/printmaker working in the early part of the 20th century. He was invited to make a series of work celebrating industry and progress and made a whole series of prints set in Pittsburgh and its surrounding mills.
