Historical NotesThis poster is from the Alliance for Police Accountability (APA) Pittsburgh’s Solidarity Action “Count Every Vote and March Rally” that took place on November 7, 2020. The action was to stand in solidarity against voter suppression and to bring the community together in anticipation for finalized election results for 2020. The event turned into a celebration of Pennsylvania turning blue (going Democrat). Graphic designers and artists were only a facet of the great effort, as APA Pittsburgh stated, to “be a part of helping us visualize the world we are working towards.” The colors of the design utilize the colors of the Trans Pride flag; the artist is communicating the need to center Trans Black women in the work that still needs to be done, even after the Democratic win.
