Historical NotesT-shirt worn by Dena Dortenzo. Dena spent her childhood in the predominately Italian American neighborhood of Bloomfield in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She attended grade school at Immaculate Conception. Dena noted that attending Immaculate Conception, where the congregation was made up of first and second generation Italian Americans, many of their Catholic traditions were brought over from Italy. Occasionally the student body could wear t-shirts to school to support Pittsburgh sports teams on special days they called “Steelers Day.”
