Her sons were in the Conestoga District in the South Hills area, and Mary remained as a Den Mother in the Cub Scouts because she enjoyed working with the young children. She was involved with the Greater Pittsburgh Council as a commissioner, and she worked with the day camps in the Pittsburgh district. She also served as a commissioner with the Conestoga Wagon district where she planned events.
