InscriptionsThe front of the tumbler states "The / Playhouse / RESTAURANT". Between the words "the" and "playhouse", there is a depiction of an actor with a feathered hat.
MarksOn the base of the glass is a cursive "L" in a circle with a "4" next to it. There is also a star stamped next to it.
Historical NotesGlass from the Pittsburgh Playhouse collected by the donor's father. The donor’s father, Allan Pinsker, was born in Uniontown, Pa., and moved to Pittsburgh in 1935. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and took a job as a sheet metalworker for Dravo after his return. He was also a noted local actor. He started his theatre career building sets at the Y Playhouse. He later became a stage manager and then an actor at both the Y Playhouse and the Pittsburgh Playhouse, among other local theatres, as well as film and television productions. He acted into his late 80s.
