Historical NotesThis was purportedly used by Anna Heinz to make apple butter. It was donated to the Heinz History Center by descendents of the Shaw Family, her friends. Label TextAnne Heinz, the mother of H.J. Heinz Company founder Henry John Heinz, purportedly borrowed this copper kettle from the Shaws to make apple butter. Heinz attributed his love of gardening and his business acumen to his mother. Not only did she inspire him with her many motivational sayings, but she also invested in his company after his bankruptcy to help him get back on his feet.
