In the center of the dish, there is a depiction of the liberty bell with the dates "1776 / 1876" above it and the words "DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE" surrounding the bell. In the bell, the words "PROCLAIM LIBERTY / THROUGHOUT THIS / LAND UNTO ALL THE / INHABITANTA THEREOF".
