Historical NotesSTS-59 flown antacid tablets belonging to Jay Apt. NASA Flight Surgeon Dr. Richard Jennings had suggested to Jay Apt after his second mission that taking antacid might mitigate the effects of stomach acid hitting the pyloric sphincter at the top of the stomach and inducing vomiting without nausea in microgravity. Apt found this to be helpful.
