Historical NotesSTS-59 flown eyeglasses and eyewear case used by Jay Apt. This pair was used on launch (ascent) and landing (entry) by Jay Apt. He was the flight engineer on this mission, and the distance prescription (top part of the glasses) was optimized for the distance between his seat and the forward cockpit displays, while the reading prescription at the bottom was optimized for reading his checklists.
