DescriptionHacksaw with wood handle. Curved frame to hold blade. Thin serrated blade held with rivets at each end, one end has a tightening chuck. Wooden handle with metal ferrule.Dimensions3.25 x 16.25 in. (8.3 x 41.3 cm)Label TextAugust Schneider brought this kit of tools with him from Germany and used them in the making of horn and shell combs. He had a shop, advertising “boots, shoes and gaiters” in Pittsburgh in the 1870-1880s and died in the 1920s.
