Historical NotesDonor Patricia Campbell's husband, Clyde H. Campbell, worked for NAVCO (National Valve and Manufacturing Company) from 1967 to 1985. NAVCO was a pipe and valve manufacturing firm started by Henry E. Haller. They had two local plants in Etna and Lawrenceville. Radiographers would test the welds on the pipes to make sure they were sound. Campbell served four years in the U.S. Navy before apprenticing at NAVCO at the age of 23. The plant closed in 1985, during the recession, which decimated much of the industrial sector in the region. Campbell then worked as a radiographer at a Beaver nuclear power plant. His family attributes his death from leukemia to radiation exposure, but said that they can not prove this.
