Historical NotesLabel used in home tailoring business of Joseph S. Tatko. Tatko "moonlighted" in his Overbrook home (223 Wayside St.) tailoring women's clothing. Born in New Brighton, PA, Tatko returned with his mother to her native Czechoslovakia as a 9 mo. old infant. He learned the tailoring trade in Czechoslovakia before returning to Western PA in 1936 (in order to avoid military service in the Czech. army.) He began working as a tailor at Kaufmann's c. 1940 and worked there until 1964 when his position was eliminated. He then worked at Hughes & Hatcher's and also Brooks Brothers before illness forced him to retire.
