Historical NotesPatrolman David Barr (36) was accidentally shot and killed while at the Department range on May 3, 1983. A range instructor was checking the firearm of another officer, when it discharged, striking Patrolman Barr in the chest. Patrolman Barr had served with the agency for 15 years. He was survived by his wife and daughter. Part of the Pittsburgh Police Historical Association collection.
