Historical NotesMovie prop in the form of a political button for the film, "The Assassination File," which was filmed on location at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The film starred Sherilyn Fenn as an ex-FBI agent investigating the murder of a black presidential candidate named "Senator Alan Laskey," played by Paul Winfield. Donor Sam Nicotero, a native of Pittsburgh, spent many years in radio and television, beginning as a booth announcer for WQED in 1963. Beginning in the 1990s, Nicotero developed a career as a film and stage actor. This led him to performances with many Pittsburgh theater companies and film roles.
