Historical NotesBryce thistle pattern compote. Like many glass companies in Western Pennsylvania, Bryce, Walker & Company was a family owned business that changed leadership and name throughout the decades. Bryce, Walker, and Company was operated on the Southside for nearly 20 years before becoming Bryce Brothers. This round bowl with thistle pattern was produced in 1872 and documents the wares of that company and the naturalistic design popular in the period.
