Historical NotesHotel key from the Roosevelt Hotel. The hotel was in downtown Pittsburgh. The Roosevelt Hotel was located at 601 Penn Ave. It opened in 1927 but nearly went out of business during the Great Depression. In 1947 the hotel was purchased by the Albert Pick hotel chain and renamed the Pick-Roosevelt Hotel. It struggled over the years and eventually closed in 1972. The building was converted into apartments for the elderly.
