DescriptionRectangular gold medal attached to a red, white, and blue vertical striped ribbon at the top of which is a pin for attaching to clothing. The front of the medal has a swimmer in the water in the center flanked by two vertical olive branches that form columns at the edges.Dimensions1.5 x 3 in. (3.8 x 7.6 cm)
InscriptionsThe top of the medal reads: "MCKEESPORT CHAMBER / OF / COMMERCE".

At the bottom is a banner that reads: "COMMUNITY PICNIC".

On the back there is an inscription "OLYMPIA PARK / LABOR DAY / 1930 / 2 LENGTH / SCR. WOMEN" with "17A" handwritten below in pencil.
MarksOn back at bottom is a mark with "DC" in the center and "DIEGES CLUST" beneath.
Historical NotesMcKeesport Chamber of Commerce Swimming Medal. Donated by Cleon Wingard, whose mother, Lenore Kight Wingard, was an Olympic swimmer and an internationally renowned athlete in the 1930s. She participated in the 1932 and 1936 Olympic Games.
