Historical NotesPenny arcade machine from Kennywood Park, c. 1930Label Text“Lift-O-Graph” penny arcade machine manufactured and sold by the International Mutoscope Reel Company, Inc. of Long Island City, NY. This machine was used at Kennywood Park and tested an individual’s back muscles. An individual would pull a handle up, and his strength would make a monkey climb a tree. Strengths include 200/”Coconut Crusher;” 400/Monkey Chaser,” 600/“Hero”, 800/“Gorilla Getter”, and 1,000/“Superman.”
