(95.3 x 82.9 x 8.3 cm)Historical NotesPortrait of Elizabeth Ferree McCombs, who was a descendant of Madame Ferree, a French Huguenot, who came to Philadelphia in 1688. Her husband, Norris McCombs was born on March 11, 1813 and died on April 24, 1887. He was a farmer and also established a hardware business in Pittsburgh and Iowa. He was a member of East Liberty Presbyterian Church. The McCombs estate seems to have been located in the present day area of Homewood.
