Historical NotesTransferred to Heinz History Center when the George Westinghouse Museum closed in 2007.Label TextGranco tabletop radio, c. 1955. Radio broadcasts became increasingly popular in the late 1940s through the 1950s. WHOD and later WAMO, WPGH, and WILY were local stations that broadcast music, as well as social, community, and national news on the airwaves. This FM-modulated radio with a dial for tuning and volume is typical of the home radio styles of the time.
