DescriptionBlue denim, and white fabric trimmed nurse's cap. It has a white hat band folded around the middle of the cap. In the front middle there is a blue circular patch. It is sewn with black thread to the white band. The patch has a white downward facing triangle with a red cross in the middle of that triangle a symbol for the Volunteer Nurse's Aide Corps. On the back in the middle there is a white button that holds the top flap of the hat to the two main side flaps. In the bottom right is a plastic and metal pin. This pin is red, white and grey. In the middle of the pin is a white circle with a red border. In the middle of the white circle is a red cross. The pin has an inscription in red providing organization name and wearer's status.Dimensions0.625 x 8.813 x 6.25 in. (1.6 x 22.4 x 15.9 cm)

Historical NotesNurse's cap belonging to Elizabeth Kenyon. Part of a collection that documents the Fisher, Keltz, and Kenyon families. The majority of the collection is related to the WWII service of brothers Walt and Robert Fisher. Robert Fisher served in the Pacific theater, particularly in the Philippines. Robert Fisher met his future wife, Elizabeth Kenyon at a camp, she was a Red Cross volunteer. They were married after the war.
