(7.6 x 10.8 cm)Historical NotesPart of a collection related to Klavon’s which document that Klavon’s was originally a pharmacy and an ice cream shop. Klavon’s Pharmacy opened at 28th and Liberty in 1920. It operated at that location as both a pharmacy and soda/ice cream shop until 1979 when founder James Klavon passed away. For 20 years the building was boarded up until Ray Klavon, grandson of the founder, re-opened the store in 1999 as Klavon’s Ice Cream Parlor. In 2013 the family sold the building to a new owner who opened another ice cream shop under the same name.
