Historical NotesIn 1980, Joseph D'Andrea was chosen to represent Pennsylvania as a delegate in the 1980 Democratic National Convention, an honor that he did not expect. Part of a collection that Joseph D'Andrea acquired through his illustrious career in Pittsburgh. During his lifetime he was the Consul of Italy for Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia; President of the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA); member of the Board of Directors of the National Education Association; member of the Historical Society of Western Pennsylvania's Board of Trustees and chair of its Italian American Advisory Council; and founder and president of the Italian Cultural Heritage Society (AMICI).
