Historical NotesArthur Garfield Trimble began the A.G. Trimble Company in 1913, in Jenkins Arcade, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, imprinting pencils. In 1920, he printed political buttons only supporting the Harding-Coolidge ticket; and the profits rolled in. In 1948, Trimble helped to create the most popular political button in American history: the "I Like Ike" button. A.G.'s son took over the business in 1972, bringing A.G. to retirement at age 92.
