Historical NotesGroup of seventeen military ribbon bars; some are individual and some are grouped together on ribbon racks. The majority could have belonged to Frederick A. Lepant because he served during WWII, though some are from WWI. There was a tradition of trading pins, which could be how Lepant had such a diverse number in his possession. Frederick Albert Lepant (April 14, 1928-September 18, 2008) was a graduate of Schenley High School, and who resided in Bellevue, was a member of US Army Air Forces during World War II, from 1940-1947. After his military career he was a draftsman at Dravo and then an electrical engineer at Duquesne Light. Includes the following ribbon bars: The American Campaign Medal was awarded to personnel for service within the American Theater between December 7, 1941 and March 2, 1946 . The American Defense Service Medal was awarded to personnel for active duty service from September 8,1939 to December 7, 1941 for a period of twelve months or longer. The European-African-Middle Eastern (EAME) Campaign Medal was awarded to personnel for service within the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater between December 7, 1941 and November 8, 1945. The WW II Victory Medal was awarded to all military personnel for service between December 7, 1941 and December 31, 1946.
