MarksArmorer's monogram on reverse side of stock engraved in wood. Stamp with "V" in top section. US mark next to another mark, consisting of a "P".

Lockplate has a depiction of the seal of the U.S. wtih "US" printed below it. Lockplate is also marked: "HARPER'S FERRY / 1803.
Historical NotesA U.S. Model 1803 flintlock rifle, made at United State Arsenal at Harper's Ferry, Va. This type of gun was carried on the Lewis & Clark expedition into the Louisiana Territory.
